Information Leakage Prevention

Data Leakage is defined as the release of confidential information from authorised users. According to the Deloitte & Touche 2005 Global Security Survey "the majority of breaches occurring in 2005 stemmed from inside the organisation."

A data breach occurs when data is released unintentionally, for example, a well intentioned user has a laptop stolen, prints important records and forgets them in an airport, or attaches the wrong file to an email.

Products built on DAP technology are designed for Information Leakage Prevention (ILP).  By encrypting data, lost, stolen, or misplaced files are protected because viewing them requires user authentication and access to centrally managed decryption keys.  This means that any potential data leaks, like the ones mentioned above, are safeguarded against!
